About FindTheSurveyor

FindTheSurveyor is a services marketplace for surveying work in England and Wales. Customers post what they need, invited qualified property surveyors can submit quotes, and the customer chooses which quote to proceed with.

Who operates FindTheSurveyor

FindTheSurveyor is owned and operated by FIND THE SURVEYOR LIMITED, company number 17398697, registered office Unit 3, Palace Court, 250 Finchley Road, London NW3 6DN.

Find The Surveyor Limited is a web-platform company, not a surveying practice. No surveying practice owns the platform. The company’s public record is on the Companies House register.

A connected surveying firm

FindTheSurveyor’s director and owner, Ross Alinari, is also a director and shareholder of Hampstead Building Consultancy Limited, company number 17085122, which trades as Hampstead Chartered Surveyors and is shown as an RICS-regulated firm on RICS Find a Surveyor. That firm does not own FindTheSurveyor.

A surveying business connected to FindTheSurveyor’s director may take part only on the same terms as any other surveyor. It must meet the same checks, receives no preferential invitation or ranking, never sees competitors’ quotes and never receives customer details before selection.

Ross Alinari is also FindTheSurveyor’s administrator, so he can see every request and quote. The connected firm, like every other surveyor, sees only its own quote and never a competitor’s.

How we keep the marketplace neutral

The rules apply equally to every participating surveyor:

  • The administrator selects suitable surveyors using the service required, property location, current documentary checks and availability. Any manual decision is recorded.
  • Each surveyor submits independently and cannot see a competitor’s identity, price, messages or activity.
  • Quotes appear in the order received by default. Customers may sort them by price or availability. There is no paid or preferred ranking.
  • Before selection, invited surveyors see only a restricted, non-identifying brief. They do not receive the customer’s name, contact details, full postcode or full property address.
  • A surveyor receives the customer’s full details only when the administrator makes an introduction to that surveyor.
  • Enquiry data is never used to approach a customer outside the platform.

The customer chooses whether to accept a quote. FindTheSurveyor does not recommend a particular surveyor.

How we check surveyor information

There is no public list of registered surveyors. A customer sees a surveyor’s private profile only alongside that surveyor’s quote.

The profile separates three kinds of information:

  • the exact qualification or professional membership, issuing body, check method and check date;
  • the services declared by the surveyor; and
  • the checked contracting identity and professional indemnity insurance status.

Where possible, membership is confirmed against the issuing body’s public register. Where no suitable register is available, the submitted document is checked and shown as such. FindTheSurveyor checks evidence but does not assess technical competence, endorse a surveyor or guarantee the standard of their work.

How FindTheSurveyor works explains the complete customer journey. Surveyors can read the information for surveyors.
